International Puppy & Trainer Contest

International Puppy Contest is designed to promote fun, fellowship, and leather pride among participants. To that end, the purpose of this Contest is to demonstrate the bond between human pups and Handler, not merely to display the ability of a person to act as a puppy for a short period of time. The basic objective of the Contest is to produce and promote pups that have been trained to behave in the home, in public places, and in the presence of other pups and Trainers in a manner befitting the ideals of leather pride and protocol with a fun spirit and sense of community. The performances of pups and Trainers in this Contest should conform to the standards and requirements of these guidelines; however it is essential that both pup and Trainer demonstrate enjoyment of the work and of the dog/Trainer bond, and that naturalness and enjoyment of purpose be encouraged above military precision.

L.U.E.Y. Weekend

The Houston Council of Clubs (HCC), consists of twelve Levi / Leather clubs & groups in the Houston, Texas area. HCC was formed to promote, sponsor and hold an annual event called "Let Us Entertain You" weekend a.k.a. LUEY weekend. We combine a brotherhood, sisterhood, and camaraderie among member "groups", other clubs, organizations, associations, courts, and individuals whose stated purposes coincide with those stated in our HCC guidelines. Let Us Entertain You was created 30 years ago, by the Texas Riders in order to 'keep the party going' and entertain individuals returning from Mardi Gras in New Orleans. The following weekend after Mardi Gras was designated LUEY weekend. In the infant stages LUEY weekend consisted of a small bar run by those eager to continue celebrating after Mardi Gras. Over the years, other local clubs have joined in hosting this event. LUEY has grown to its current roster of 12 clubs and 6 auxillaries - with as many as 833 registered guests from 29 states and 5 foreign countries. Many years in to LUEY weekend, the Houston Council of Clubs added the 'Show of Shows'. This event marks the closing of LUEY weekend and is held on Sunday afternoon. The 'Show of Shows' is put on by the member clubs and features a wide range of entertainment. It has delighted thousands of participants over the years.
